Hi Doreen,

Thank you for the nice responses responses to my old forum posting about how you, Jean and Kathleen looked etc.....
I wish it was easy to meet up for coffee and a chat, as Jean said, even Stewart!

Hi Eleanor,

I wish we all lived near each other.
We could meet for coffee whenever we wanted, and help each other out.

Perhaps we should make a start on building that village we once invented!

Ah, I`ve found the link now, so I know what this thread is about!

Eleanor, what a lovely thing to say! I, too, wish coffee and scones could be a regular thing for us. A weekly coffee morning would go down a treat, wouldn`t it?

Maybe Doreen`s got a point about the village.

Take care all,

Kathleen x

I think that would be quite nice to see some of you ladies in person. Very enlightening!! LOL I've only met one person on here and that was young Carol. She brought her family all the way from Cambridgeshire to meet my family. It was a very nice weekend and a bit of a laugh as it turned out! Wink

Stewart.

Stewart, I suspect that it would be most enlightening and quite terrifying for a mere, lone male. It would be good to be able to meet up regularly though. Distance is a nuisance!

Doreen, that village idea was stolen because I saw something of the kind on television a few months ago. It was for retired people who could go and live there (Bedfordshire I think it was)and when/if they needed care, it was on hand. They had shops, gym (for Stewart) and all kinds of activities. I wanted to sign up at once.

Ours was better because it was for all of us. You and I Doreen, could babysit for Jenni, Amanda, Alison and the others with children. Bet that we would have all skills available. Could be fun!

Mary,

Don't you remember when we built our own virtual village/commune with everything that we have ever wanted in it? It was before we started virtual cavorting in Stringfellows and swimming in fountains. oh and about the time that we were all over the world with Dr Who and Gordon - old slack jaw - looking for the secret of the DLA.

Of course you can come Anthea, everyone can!
Can you just imagine us all living in one village?

We would need our own fire station.

Could I suggest that if we are really going to go ahead with this, we should perhps build it somewhere warmer? Benidorm perhaps? That way we could indulge in whatever we fancied 7 nights of the week, be warm doing it and there would be loads of bars for Amanda! (I've never actually been to Benidorm but have, of course, heard lots about it!)RollEyes I understand it's a bit like Blackpool abroad so we could get up all sorts!

I'm with you Jean! Now we need to negotiate a piece of land near the sea for our development. First requirement is that all homes should face the sea and have a terrace. We really should get a virtual list of jobs and who is to do what. I don't mind going out there to look around.

If it is abroad, can it be somewhere like Barbados or Hawaii please? I'd like to wear a grass skirt and flowers around my neck whilst I tesch the children!

Plus, I wouldn't feel TOO guilty sipping cocktails throughout the day....

Love,
Amanda

PS; I have managed to 'break' my lap top! and am on Mark's fancy computer as he is away...what a nightmare!
